Match Day 4 of the 2023-2024 WRFA Promotional league was full of thrills and surprises as most team’s fate on qualifying to the next stage was decided.

Sekondi Hasaacas and Nsuopun Fidelity started the day with a thrilling encounter which saw Sekondi Hasaacas not qualifying to the next stage after they lost the game by 2-1.

Nsuopun Fidelity FC found the back of the net in the 19th minutes through Samuel Kofi after Kenny Agbo doubled it for them in the 39th minutes.

Sekondi Hasaacas got a consolation goal in the 90+3 minutes through Frederick Quayson.
This leaves Sekondi Hasaacas with only 2 points in group D making them unable to qualify even if they win their last game with Saada FC.

The second was between another group group D teams, Nkwataman FC and Saada FC which saw Saada FC who lost to Nsuopun Fidelity in their first game amass all three points after winning 1-2.
Saada FC took the lead through Felix B. Owusu’s goal in the 60th minutes but couldn’t hold on to the lead as Nkwataman FC equalized through Shadrack Fosu in the 82nd minutes.
Saada FC pressured till they sealed the game with a win through Benjamin Kwofie in 84th minutes.

The third game was between Group C teams, Soccer Lions and Sporting Club who were both at the bottom with no point after both teams have lost their first game.

Soccer Lions made sure they weren’t finishing their second game with empty hands as they recorded a 2-1 victory in their game with LB Sporting Club.

Soccer Lions took the lead through Emmanuel Arthur in the 5th mins and sealed it in the 66th minutes.

LB Sporting Club tried coming back into the game after getting a consolation goal through Sheriff Rahman in the 75th minutes but their efforts were proven futile leaving them to languish at the bottom of the table.

Soccer Lions win in their second game boosts their chances of qualifying to the semi-finals stage depending on their last game with Zico FC who are now topping the group with 5 points.

The last game was between another group C teams, Zico FC and Givova SC.
The game was a cagey encounter which was decided with penalties after a full-time 0-0 result.

Soccer Lions was able to amass 2 points after winning the penalties by 5-3.
This result leaves Zico FC on top of group C table with 5 points but the group is still open for all top three teams which will be left to last games to decide which team qualifies to the semi-finals stage.
